Our Purpose

Crossroads Baptist Church exists to bring the Truth of God’s Word to the CROSSROADS of Tracy through:

Passionate, God-Centered WORSHIP

We believe worship is not a performance, but our response to the absolute holiness and authority of God. Our worship is centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ, acknowledging Him as the Creator and Sustainer of all life. (Psalm 29:2, John 4:24)

Creative, Others-Focused OUTREACH

We are called to reach the lost with the same urgency and compassion Christ showed. We seek to be a lighthouse in Tracy, sharing the Gospel through practical service and the bold proclamation of the Truth. (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8)

Dynamic, Servant-Producing DISCIPLESHIP

True discipleship is about moving from “milk to meat.” We teach the whole counsel of God—from Genesis to Revelation—equipping believers to not just know the Word, but to be transformed by it and serve others with a servant’s heart. (Hebrews 5:12-14, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Our Core Values

The Supremacy and Sufficiency of Scripture

The Bible is our final authority in all matters of faith, practice, science, and history. Pastor Tim emphasizes that if we cannot trust the first eleven chapters of Genesis, we have no foundation for the rest of the Bible. We stand on the absolute sufficiency of God’s Word from the very first verse. (Psalm 119:160, 2 Peter 1:3)

Integrated, Multi-Cultural, Multi-Generational Worship

Crossroads is a family of families. We value a “participatory” environment where every generation—from the children in Answers Academy to our seniors—worships and grows together. We believe the church is strongest when it reflects the diversity of the Body of Christ. (Revelation 7:9, Psalm 145:4)

The Sanctity of all Human Life

Because every human being is fearfully and wonderfully made in the Image of God, we believe life is sacred from the moment of conception. Our value for life is rooted in the biblical account of Creation and the inherent dignity God gives to every person. (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:13-16)

Missional, Reproductive Church

We are not called to be a “country club,” but a mission station. Our value is in reproducing disciples who make more disciples. We strive to be a church that is constantly looking outward, planting seeds of the Gospel that will grow into the next generation of believers. (2 Timothy 2:2, Mark 16:15)

Our Baptist Heritage

We hold firmly to the historic “Baptist Distictives,” including the priesthood of the believer and the autonomy of the local church. We cherish our heritage of standing for religious liberty and the literal interpretation of the Scriptures. (1 Peter 2:9, Jude 1:3)

Prayer

Prayer is the “engine room” of the church. Pastor Tim teaches that we are a people of desperate dependence on God. We are a lively congregation that believes God hears us and acts when His people come together in humble, persistent prayer. (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Philippians 4:6-7)
